If you're looking for a list of books to read and enjoy, you're probably better off checking the show's recommended books list. This "Sources and Reference" page is likely overkill for that but could be helpful for anyone else doing their own deep research.

This page contains a mostly complete list of all sources used to create the podcast as well as a mapping of each source to each episode. I say "mostly" because early in the show I had lower standards for keeping detailed lists of all of my sources. I still sought out high quality sources, I just didn't bother writing down what I was reading and for what purposes. Around the start of the shuttle program I started taking much more detailed notes.

If you'd like to slice and dice these sources and episode listings yourself, you can take a look at the somewhat dubiously formatted JSON file that contains all the raw data.

Due to the massive number of sources, the scattershot nature of my old notes, and my lifelong habit of procrastination, please consider this page to be a never-ending work in progress. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me. (Contact details are on the show's main page.)

Episode 155 - STS-77 - Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-Flailing Tube Satellite (IAE, PAMS, SPACEHAB)

Published: 9 Apr 2022

On STS-77, we've got one of the strangest shuttle payloads I've ever seen, a satellite that's passively stabilized by aerodynamic forces (mostly), a bunch of SPACEHAB experiments, and a blast from the past.

Also, here's that deployment video of IAE that I recommend looking up.. wait until you hear about it first! https://youtu.be/adatQ59j6sc?t=1485

Errata: In the outro I mention how I'm not familiar with any passively stabilized spacecraft. This neglects the entire category of spinners, which is kind of their whole point. But I was thinking of "passively stabilized by aerodynamic forces" and just didn't use my words.
